Paleo PB Pronuts


Recently,  I have been wanting to try my hand at making some protein doughnuts (pronuts). But first, I had to find a worthy protein powder to make my pronut dreams come true. After being sent some samples from the women-owned company, Protein Milkshake, I immediately fell in love with their amazing quality and tasting protein powder. I knew this protein powder was for me and perfect to make my pronuts come to fruition in my kitchen!

Once I received my Vanilla Protein Milkshake protein powder in the mail, I couldn’t wait to get baking. Fast forward to a day later (today) and I made my pronut dreams come true by making paleo peanut butter pronuts! And let me tell you, they taste absolutely amazing! My whole family loves them including my toddler and picky hubby (He’s often skeptical of my healthy creations haha)! Not only do they taste incredible, your house will smell so good and they are pretty easy to make! If you love doughnuts and peanut butter, you will become obsessed with these paleo protein donuts. P.S. They taste especially good when you enjoy them with a cup of tea or coffee!

Paleo PB Pronuts

Ingredients

    Dough:
  • 3/4 cup Coconut Flour
  • 1 cup Almond Flour
  • 1/2 tbsp Ground Cinnamon
  • 4 Eggs
  • 1/2 cup Almond Milk
  • 3 tbsp Peanut Butter
  • 1/2 cup Honey
    Icing:
  • 1 Scoop of Vanilla Protein Powder
  • 1 tbsp Coconut Palm Sugar
  • 2 tbsp Peanut Butter
  • Almond Milk to thin out

Instructions

Prep:
  • Preheat oven to 350*F
  • Grease donut pan (I used a 12 count mini donut pan) with cooking spray
  • Dough:
  • In a large mixing bowl, add dry ingredients and mix well.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together all the wet ingredients including PB and honey very well.
  • Pour wet ingredients into the dry ingredients bowl and mix. The batter should become thick and resemble a cookie dough like texture.
  • Spoon dough into each doughnut mold and press down with fingers to even out so dough is even with the pan.
  • Bake for approximately 20 minutes.
  • After removing pan from oven, let it sit for about 3 minutes then transfer to a cooling rack.
  • Icing after pronuts are completely cool!
  • Icing:
  • Combine all the ingredients and add a splash of almond milk until the mixture is creamy like soft serve ice cream. (I only poured one splash and it worked out very well!)
  • Dip each pronut individually into the icing and then place on a plate.
  • Enjoy!
